SOC 6650 - GLOBALIZATION AND SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION 3 Credit Hour(s) This course focuses on large scale social transformation and processes of globalization. Important theories of social transformation and development are introduced and applied to cultural, political, economic, organizational, and interpersonal dimensions of globalization. Important debates on globalization and its historical unfolding are reviewed. Anti-systemic social movements of resistance against globalization are examined as well as considerations of how globalization will impact the work of social agencies, organizations, and institutions in the coming decades.
