ART 1140 - CERAMICS: WHEEL THROWING


3 Credit Hour(s)
This course is an introduction to a range of basic ceramic wheel-throwing and hand-building processes. Emphasis will be on clay and ceramic materials along with the development of personal styles using foundational wheel-throwing processes. Students will examine methods of working with clay using the potter’s wheel along with some basic hand-building techniques. Projects will cover foundational sculpture and utilitarian principles with ceramics. Students will explore the significance of ceramics as an art material and as objects. Six hours of studio a week. 

Laboratory Fee: A laboratory fee is required for this course.
