Human Sciences, BS, Nutrition Education and Promotion Concentration

The Human Sciences undergraduate degree program includes study in the areas of child life, human development and family studies, and nutrition education and promotion. The educational goal is to provide instruction in areas of Human Sciences that will prepare students for advanced study in graduate programs, or to assume professional roles through careers in business, industry, agencies, hospitals, and educational settings.

**Electives must be chosen from the following areas: HS, HSCI, KIN, KIN Lab, NURS, EDUC, PSYC, HDFS, CL, NUTR, or HUSC.

A two-course sequence is required (see GER section of this catalog for options). If the two-course sequence is taken in the physical sciences, the additional three-hour course must be taken from the life sciences, and vice versa.

Upon completion of this program, students will be eligible to take the certification exam as Nutrition and Wellness Educators through the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. Requirements include completing NUTR 2530 , NUTR 3420 , NUTR 3440 NUTR 4110 , NUTR 4210 , and NUTR 4250  as well as passing the competency exam.
