Music Minor

A minor represents an optional, secondary field of study for an undergraduate student; therefore, no student may declare a major and a minor in the same discipline.

Students majoring in areas other than music and who possess sufficient aptitude and preparation may acquire a minor in music by completing twenty-four semester hours drawn from the areas of history, literature, theory and performance as follows: MUS 1110 MUSIC THEORY I  or MUS 1300 MUS 1300 - FUNDAMENTALS OF MUSIC THEORY  and MUS 1120 MUS 1120 - MUSIC THEORY II  are required, the remaining 18 credits to be selected from any other appropriate courses.
