COUN 6270 - INTRODUCTION TO PLAY THERAPY 3 Credit Hour(s) This course is designed to provide students with basic information related to play therapy. The primary goal of this course is to introduce students to interventions and strategies that focus on various theoretical orientations and play therapy techniques for use in counseling children and families. This includes exploring how individual dynamics and family interactions contribute to presenting concerns, utilizing systemic frameworks to conceptualize cases, and applying play therapy as an intervention to facilitate change within the family system. Students will have the opportunity to receive supervised experience as they use various strategies in class and assignments.
