MUS 2571 - INTRODUCTION TO WORLD MUSIC

This course provides an in-depth study of musical traditions of diverse cultures across the globe. Students will examine music as a cultural expression, exploring how musical practices intersect with religion, ritual, identity, politics, and globalization. Through listening, analysis, discussion, and hands-on activities, students will gain a deeper understanding of world music both as sound and as a vital part of human life.
