SW 3040 - GENERALIST SOCIAL WORK PRACTICE: MICRO-PRACTICE SKILLS

The primary purpose of this course is to prepare students for generalist social work practice with individuals and families. The course focuses on the problem solving model, case management, and communication skills. The course will identify practice skills that emphasize strengths, advocacy, empowerment, and change. Attention is given to population-at-risk.

Prerequisite(s): Students must earn a grade of “C” or better in SW 2010 , SW 2020 , SW 2030 , SW 2040 , SW 2050 , and admission into professional standing
