ENGL 4970 - LITERARY CITIZENSHIP

Meant to serve as a capstone experience, this course will examine the activities and responsibilities of practicing, professional writers in the larger scope of the writing community. Content will include examination of the current literary market, submission mechanics and the submission of manuscripts, the role of book reviews in the building of professional networks, the benefits of serving as readers for literary magazines, and the processes of planning and executing public performances.

Prerequisite(s): ENGL 4820 , ENGL 4380 , or ENGL 4840 , or permission of the department head
