MATH 4470 - CAPSTONE IN MATHEMATICS FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL MATHEMATICS TEACHERS 2 Credit Hour(s) This course is designed to expand and strengthen students’ understanding of middle school mathematics through the study of numbers, algebra, geometry, and data analysis in preparation for entering the classroom. This course will focus on the key ideas in middle school mathematics through readings, explorations, and activities involving problem solving, modeling, manipulatives, and technology. Graphing technology is required for this course. This course will emphasize Standards for Mathematical Practice, mathematical language, procedures, algorithms, applications, and dispositions.
Prerequisite(s): A grade of “C” or better in MATH 2580 Restrictions: This course may not be used for a major or minor in Mathematics.
