Three units on the Origins and Outbreak of the French Revolution (to 1792); the Reign of Terror and the Thermidorian Reaction (1792-99); and the Napoleonic Era (1799-1815). Includes in-depth coverage of the role of women. Lectures, readings, and discussion.
