ANTH 4050 - INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF THE AMERICAS 3 Credit Hour(s) A course dealing with the American Indian from the time of his arrival in the New World to the present. In considering the pre-Columbian period, emphasis is placed upon the cultural development of the various Indian groups relative to the geographic environment. Study of the post-Columbian period is directed primarily at investigating the relationships of the Indian to the modern social system.
Prerequisite(s): ANTH 1010 , Junior standing or permission of the department head Offered: Summer, Fall, Spring
