HSM 4000 - INTRODUCTION TO HEALTHCARE FINANCE

3 Credit Hour(s)
An introduction to healthcare reimbursement systems, the regulatory environment, general accounting, cost concepts, product costing, strategic planning and an introduction to the operating budget. Emphasis will be on understanding and interpreting financial information, concepts and techniques of financial analysis and the decision-making process in the healthcare environment.

Prerequisite(s): HSM 2000  and HSM 2100  or permission of department head
