Louisiana Common Course Number: CHIS 2033, Louisiana History

A survey of Louisiana history from the age of discovery to the present. Three units on Colonial Louisiana; 19th-Century Louisiana; and Modern Louisiana. Includes in-depth coverage of the role of women and minorities, with particular attention to African-American and Cajun influence. Lectures, readings, and discussions.

Prerequisite(s): Junior standing or permission of the department head
