This course is designed to prepare early childhood, elementary, and middle school math teachers to teach number and operations concepts in the PK-8 curriculum. Topics include number systems, fractions, operations on rational numbers, ratio and proportional relationships, and number theory. This course will emphasize Standards for Mathematical Practice, conceptual understanding, mathematical language, procedures, algorithms, applications, and dispositions.

Prerequisite(s): A grade of “C” or better in two of the following courses: MATH 1050, MATH 1070, MATH 1610, or MATH 2410
