EDCI 1010 - INTRODUCTION TO EDUCATION: SCHOOL AND SOCIETY 3 Credit Hour(s) [EDUC 202] A survey of factors influencing development of the modern education system. This includes major social, political, religious, and intellectual movements, as well as connections between seminal theorists whose philosophies still shape education. The course covers education’s major stakeholders, organizational structures, and determining the purpose and goals of public education. Some experiential learning occurs outside of regularly scheduled class times but students schedule at their convenience.
