CHEM 1010 - GENERAL CHEMISTRY I 3 Credit Hour(s) Louisiana Common Course Number: CCEM 1103, Chemistry I (Non-Science Majors)
The first of a two semester sequence covering the following general topics: metric and temperature conversions, density, calorimetry, mixtures/compounds/elements, chemical and physical properties, structure of the atom and electron configuration, periodic table, bonding, chemical formulas and nomenclature, moles, stoichiometry, chemical reactions, gas laws, and properties of gases, liquids and solids. This course is not recommended for students whose curricula require CHEM 2510 , CLAB 2560 , CHEM 2650 , CHEM 2660 , and courses numbered above 3000.
Prerequisite(s): An ACT score in Mathematics of 19 or greater or concurrent registration in or prior credit for MATH 1050 or MATH 1070 or MATH 1610 Offered: Summer, Fall, Spring
