The beginning course for students with no knowledge of French. All appropriate elements of basic language learning are utilized for the purpose of providing a foundation in the language and culture of the countries where French is spoken. Class work supplemented by aural-oral drill in the language laboratory. Offered as the first of four sequential courses (1010, 1020, 2010, 2020) designed to provide an overall desired proficiency.
