SW 1010 - INTRODUCTION TO SOCIAL WORK, FIELDS OF PRACTICE

A survey of the resource and delivery systems in which social work is practiced. Emphasis will be given to both public and private agencies and various methodologies. Social Work values, ethics, skills and knowledge base are examined. An overview of the history of social welfare with an emphasis on fields of practice. Service gaps and biases will be identified.
