EGIS 980 - READING 3 Credit Hour(s) This is a reading course designed to help develop comprehension skills in English, including identification, differentiation, and sequencing of main ideas, supporting ideas and details. Particular stress is given to imparting strategies that enable students to understand the overall meaning of an authentic text even when they are unfamiliar with some of the works and structures. An important goal for the students in the course is to transfer the reading skills they already have in their native language to reading in English.
Restrictions: This course is not accepted for credit toward graduation. Laboratory Fee: A laboratory fee is required for this course. Grading Basis: Students will be graded on the basis of Pass (P) or Unsatisfactory (U). Offered: Summer, Fall, Spring
