COUN 6420 - CRISIS INTERVENTION AND GRIEF COUNSELING

This course will encompass the influence of crises, disasters, and events in individuals’ lives that cause stress-induced trauma. The response to crisis and trauma by emergency management personnel and the impact on individuals, families, and communities will be examined. Suicide assessment, intervention and prevention strategies will be addressed. Students will also explore the concept of grief.
