ENGL 5640 - THE TEACHING OF LITERATURE

This course prepares English Education majors to become effective teachers of literature at the secondary level. Students will explore the methods and literary texts vital to a secondary school curriculum in Language Arts. Students will also develop teaching materials appropriate for use in the high school classroom.

Prerequisite(s): ENGL 3000 and at least one of the following: ENGL 2107, ENGL 2300, ENGL 2310, ENGL 2320, ENGL 2917, ENGL 2927, ENGL 3010, ENGL 3030, ENGL 3100, ENGL 3510, ENGL 3520, ENGL 3950 or ENGL 3960. Senior standing or permission of the department head
