Gender and Sexuality Studies Minor

A minor represents an optional, secondary field of study for an undergraduate student; therefore, no student may declare a major and a minor in the same discipline.

The Department of English and World Languages offers a minor in Gender and Sexuality Studies. It includes the following coursework:

Independent study in English or home discipline producing substantive research or creative project centering gender and sexuality studies concepts and frameworks: 3 hours

Notes:

¹A History course at the 3000-4000 level with substantial focus on gender and sexuality may be used to satisfy this requirement with the approval of the English Department.

²Subject to the approval of the Department of English, Independent study or special topic course from any department may be used in this minor if a substantial amount of the course or of the student’s research focuses on issues of gender and sexuality.
