SW 2010 - HISTORY AND PHILOSOPHY OF SOCIAL WELFARE AND SOCIAL WORK 3 Credit Hour(s) An historical survey of the history of social work and social organizations in the U. S. designed to meet social problems. Emphasis is given to Social Welfare laws and organizations as a reflection of culture and societal values. Attention is also given to the philosophical base of social work practice as reflected in the ethics and values of the profession.
Prerequisite(s): SW 1010 or permission of department head for non-majors Offered: Summer, Fall, Spring
